Norbury residents planning a walk, family visit or cycle session at Norbury Park can now check two useful public sources: the park’s official Croydon Council directory page and the Friends of Norbury Park update on the newer path through the park.
Friends of Norbury Park says Croydon Council completed a brand-new path running through the heart of the park. The group says the route was designed to be wide enough for council vehicles and to offer park users a drier, more accessible route during wet winter months.
The Friends group also says the path was officially opened on 16 July 2025. For residents, the practical point is simple: the park now has an additional surfaced route to consider when choosing an entrance or planning a visit in poor weather.
What the council lists for Norbury Park
Croydon Council’s parks directory lists Norbury Park as being between Norbury Avenue and Green Lane, with an area of 28 1/2 acres or 11.53 hectares.
The council lists facilities including playing fields, a multi-games court, a public car park off Grenville Avenue, a children’s playground opposite the Norbury Hill entrance in Green Lane, and a BMX track.
For the BMX track, the council describes it as a community track where everyone is welcome, with equipment and coaching support available through the local volunteer BMX club.

Why it matters locally
Norbury Park is one of the area’s main green spaces and sits close to homes around Green Lane, Norbury Avenue, Harefield Road and the wider SW16 neighbourhood. Better surfaced routes can make a noticeable difference for everyday use, especially after rain or for people trying to avoid muddy sections.
Residents should still check the council page for the latest official information on opening times, facilities and contact details, as park arrangements can change.
