Published 12 August 2026. Norbury residents keeping an eye on local roads have two official updates to note this month: Croydon Council’s borough-wide pothole repair programme and two Norbury entries in the council’s August temporary traffic-order list.

Croydon Council said on 6 August that it had repaired more than 3,000 potholes since January and was launching a dedicated “Pothole Patrol” following a trial earlier in the year.

According to the council, the patrol is intended to reduce delays by allowing crews to tour the borough, identify defects and carry the tools and materials needed to repair potholes on the spot where possible. The council said the work sits alongside routine highway inspections and resident reports.

The council also said the patrol is helping bring average repair time down to seven days, with urgent on-the-spot repairs, and forms part of a 20% increase in Croydon’s road maintenance budget compared with last year.

Norbury closure notices listed

Separately, Croydon Council’s official “Temporary traffic orders for August 2026” page lists, under 6 August, made notices for Colebrook Road, Norbury and Norbury Crescent, Norbury. The Gazette has not reproduced the PDF notices here; residents should check the council’s live page and attached notices before travelling or planning deliveries.

The same August list also includes several other Croydon road and cycle-lane notices, including locations in Croydon, Purley and Coulsdon.

How to report a pothole

Croydon Council says residents can report potholes and other road defects through the Love Clean Streets app, including an exact location and photographs to help assessment.
